This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and our services, why we collect it, and the rights you hold over it. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

- Contact data — name, work email, phone and company, when you submit a form, register for an event or request support.
- Usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, collected via privacy-respecting analytics.
- Candidate data — resumes and application details, when you apply for a role.
- Client service data — data processed on clients' behalf under contract, governed by the applicable services agreement and data-processing addendum, not this website policy.
2. Why we process it
- To respond to enquiries and provide requested information or services.
- To operate, secure and improve this website.
- To evaluate job applications.
- To send communications you have opted into — every message includes a working unsubscribe.
- To meet legal, audit and security obligations.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use website data for third-party advertising. We do not enrich your profile from data brokers.
4. Sharing and processors
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our instructions (hosting, CRM, applicant tracking), under contracts requiring equivalent protection; with authorities where legally required; and in connection with corporate transactions, under confidentiality.
5. International transfers
Where data crosses borders, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms, including contractual safeguards, and offer India data residency for client workloads that require it.
6. Retention
Enquiry data is kept up to 24 months after last contact; candidate data up to 12 months unless you ask otherwise; analytics data is aggregated or deleted within 14 months. Client service data follows the contract.
7. Security
We protect data with the same discipline we sell: encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access, continuous monitoring and annual independent audits (ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II).
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or portability of your personal data, withdraw consent, or object to processing. Write to privacy@smaits.tech — we respond within 30 days and never charge for a first request. You may also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
9. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. Optional cookies load only after consent, and you can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer of the deployed site.
